As the firm’s founding partner, Mr. Kantor created the culture that defines Kantor, Davidoff. It centers on getting to know our clients, protecting their best interests, and providing practical solutions in managing their legal affairs. Educated at the Wharton School of Finance, he draws on a sophisticated knowledge of business and finance in his corporate and commercial law practice. Early in his legal career as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, he prosecuted federal cases involving financial crime, income tax evasion, and espionage, Upon returning to private practice, he used this invaluable experience when trying cases before the U.S. Tax Court.
Mr. Kantor has represented clients engaged in a wide range of industries, including apparel manufacturers, retailers, advertising agencies, accounting firms, government investigations, and securities broker dealers. He has expertly negotiated contracts and employment agreements, and frequently served as a client’s general counsel. Mr. Kantor also is an experienced trusts and estates attorney, helping many clients in estate and financial planning, drafting wills and trusts, and providing other personal services.
Mr. Kantor is active in philanthropy, serving as an officer and board member of philanthropic organizations, including The Committee of 1000 for The Mount Sinai Medical Center, the Transplant Living Center, the American Liver Foundation, The Kanter Kallman Foundation, and Hava Kohav Theatre Foundation. He has led civic associations such as the Forest Hills Gardens Taxpayers Association, where he served as president and is an officer and director of the Forest Hills Gardens Corp.
