Experience
As former managing partner of Buchman Buchman & O’Brien, once the largest firm in the United States specializing in alcoholic beverage law, Mr. Buchman was chiefly responsible for importation and distribution contracts and a myriad of corporate and regulatory matters singular to the alcoholic beverage industry. As many companies in the wine industry went public or were acquired by public corporations, Mr. Buchman earned a reputation for expertise in securities law.
He continues to perform general corporate work for clients in the alcoholic beverage industry as well as other diverse fields. His practice has evolved to include estate planning to serve the personal needs of business clients who sought his guidance in these matters for themselves and their families.
Mr. Buchman has been active in many not-for-profit organizations, serving on the boards of The United Way of New York City; The French Poly Clinic Hospital, Cancer Care; The Grand Marnier Foundation; The Columbia-Greene Hospital Foundation; and Friends of Olana. Currently he is an officer and counsel to Bocuse D’Or USA, Ltd. and The Dorothy M. Gillespie Foundation, Inc.
